NIFTY VALUATION HEATMAP · LIVE PE / PB / DY · 10Y PERCENTILE

NIFTY valuation heatmap — cheap, fair, rich, stretched.

Live trailing PE, PB, and dividend yield for NIFTY 50, Next 50, Midcap, Smallcap and 13 sector indices — pulled directly from NSE. Each PE is then labelled against its 10-year historical distribution so you can see at a glance where valuations sit relative to history. This is a valuation lens, not a buy/sell call.

Live PE/PB/DY from NSE; 10Y percentile bands curated · as of April 2026 · 10Y rolling (Jan 2016 – Dec 2025). Curated reference — verify against the authoritative source before making any investment decision. Refreshed periodically, not continuously.

How to read the percentile

  • Below 20th %ile — current PE is lower than 80% of the last 10 years. Historically this has been a cheaper-than-normal zone.
  • 20th – 50th %ile (below median) — cheaper than typical 10-year value.
  • 50th – 80th %ile (above median) — richer than typical.
  • Above 80th %ile — stretched vs 10-year history. Forward returns from these levels have historically been below average, but "expensive can stay expensive" for long periods.

Percentile rank is a statistical label, not a timing signal. Valuation tells you about long-term expected return, not when prices will mean-revert. Pair with earnings growth outlook and macro cycle before sizing any position.

Why sectors have different "normal" PE

FMCG and Consumer Durables trade at 40× – 60× PE because earnings are predictable and defensive. Metal and Energy trade at 10× – 15× because earnings are cyclical and commodity-linked. PSU Bank trades below 10× because book value grows slower. Always compare an index to its own 10-year history, not cross-sector.
